What are the characteristics and disadvantages of toothed roller crushers?
toothed roller crushers
1 It has dual functions of screening and crushing
The two toothed roller shafts are fixed and installed, and their relative motion is like a rotating grid screen. The materials that meet the particle size requirements are first screened by the gap between the toothed roller or the toothed roller and the lining plate, thereby avoiding the re crushing of that part of the material through the roller teeth. This not only reduces the over crushing rate and energy consumption of the material, but also reduces the crushing time of the roller teeth, extending its service life. Simultaneously, the toothed rollers are operated at opposite speeds, resulting in better shear and tensile crushing effects. The movement of the roller teeth also forces the material to be discharged after crushing, making it less prone to congestion, making it suitable for viscous materials and materials with high moisture content.
2 Two toothed rollers running at non equal circular, non meshing, and non equal speed
This feature increases the shear crushing effect on mineral materials and reduces the blockage phenomenon existing in domestic and foreign toothed roller crushers.
3 Double overload protection
(1). On the one hand, the moment limiting Fluid coupling absorbs the impact force generated during crushing to make the machine run smoothly, on the other hand, it plays a role of safety protection for the whole machine. Once the equipment is stuck or overloaded inside, the Fluid coupling will automatically cut off the transmission of power to make the motor idle, thus protecting the electric machine and the big and small toothed rollers;
(2). This machine is equipped with a movable jaw buffer device. When the toothed roller is overloaded due to crushing force, it will force the compression spring to move radially and horizontally outward to increase the gap between the toothed roller and the jaw plate, providing protection for both the toothed roller and the jaw body.
4 Flexible assembly and convenient maintenance
The gear roller shaft is equipped with a broken gear ring, which is embedded with a gear sleeve and fixed with bolts. When the wear of the gear sleeve reaches a certain level during the crushing process, individual replacement can be carried out at a fast speed, thereby reducing downtime and production costs.
5 Reasonable structure and long service life
The teeth of the crushing roller are arranged in a special spiral arrangement, which not only facilitates the discharge of materials that meet the particle size requirements, but also reduces the number of teeth that are simultaneously subjected to force on the toothed roller, which is conducive to crushing large pieces of materials. Simultaneously utilizing the dual effects of toothed rollers, lining plates, and jaw bodies to achieve material crushing, reducing the workload of gear teeth, improving crushing efficiency, and extending the service life of the entire machine.
The toothed roll coal crusher is suitable for crushing raw coal (less than 30% gangue is allowed in raw coal) in coal mines, Coal preparation plant and other industries, as well as other brittle materials similar to raw coal hardness. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, long service life, fully sealed, low noise, small crushing ability, and relatively uniform discharge particle size.

What Causes Excessive Wear on Conveyor Belt Edges and How to Prevent It
Excessive conveyor belt edge wear—caused by misalignment, uneven loading, worn rollers, or debris—can be minimized through proper alignment, even material distribution, regular maintenance, and protective measures like skirting and edge guards.
Read MoreHow to Stop Belt Conveyor from Tracking Off-Center (Running Sideways)
Belt conveyors are essential components in industries ranging from mining and manufacturing to logistics and warehousing. However, one of the most common operational issues faced by facility managers and engineers is belt misalignment, often referred to as tracking off-center or running sideways. This problem not only reduces efficiency but can also cause excessive wear, damage to components, and potential safety hazards. Understanding the causes and solutions is key to maintaining smooth conveyor operations.
